Canberra borrowers describe a mortgage broking service built around clear guidance and steady support. Lucia Lee is named frequently for the patience she showed in walking clients through each step, her quick replies and the confidence she instilled in first-time buyers. Sam Wightman receives comparable recognition for breaking down figures, presenting multiple lending choices and introducing a government assistance scheme that one buyer had not previously known about. Jonathan Mosslar is credited with turning complicated borrowing arrangements into plain English, while Nitish and Emily are associated with responsive, professional handling of a purchase.

A theme running through the feedback is how unexpected obstacles were managed, with brokers described as proactive in pursuing competitive rates and consistent in keeping clients informed from the initial enquiry through to settlement. Reviewers also value the breadth of the operation, which extends to car finance, property investment and financial planning, and they connect that variety to the expertise they encountered. Detailed explanations, accessibility and a sense that queries were welcomed regardless of size recur throughout the accounts. The recurring theme is of home purchases and refinancing steered to completion with care and attention.

Jonathan and his team were super responsive with well researched honest advice. This experience was for the setup of a new mortgage and followup checkins to see if better offers become available as the market and our needs changed.

As a first home buyer, I honestly don't think I would be where I am today - waiting for settlement on my first home - without Sam Wightman. Before speaking with him, I genuinely believed I would be renting for the rest of my life. I had never even heard of the Help to Buy Scheme until Sam introduced it to me, and that completely changed my outlook on what was possible. From the very beginning, Sam patiently guided me through every stage of the home buying journey. He explained not only the Help to Buy Scheme but also the entire home buying process-from the differences between purchasing through a private treaty versus an auction to what happens at every stage-in a way that was easy to understand. No matter how many questions I asked, he never made me feel like I was asking too much. As a first home buyer, that meant more to me than I can express. Years before meeting Sam, I had spoken to staff from several different banks while trying to understand home loans. I was introduced to terms such as loan-to-value ratio (LVR), fixed, variable and split loans, offset accounts and redraw facilities. Instead of helping me, each conversation left me more confused until I spoke with Sam. He took the time to explain what each of these terms meant, how they worked, the differences between them, and how they would affect me personally. For the first time in years, I finally understood home loans. It genuinely felt like a lightbulb moment. He organised my finance and obtained formal approval with the bank very quickly, consistently responded promptly, and kept the process moving efficiently. He clearly explained exchange and settlement and walked me through every figure involved. Whenever I wanted to understand where every dollar was coming from-whether it was my contribution, the bank's contribution, Housing Australia's contribution, conveyancing costs or other expenses - Sam always took the time to break everything down so I was never left confused. He also provided advice on conveyancers and solicitors, helped coordinate with everyone involved, guided me through signing loan documents and prepared detailed financial plans for both the first property I considered and the property I ultimately purchased and even told me about a complimentary utility connection service to help organise electricity, gas, internet and other essential services. Every plan clearly outlined the purchase price, deposits, surplus funds, body corporate costs, conveyancing fees and other expected expenses, allowing me to compare my options with confidence. It was another example of him thinking ahead and making what could have been a stressful part of the process much easier. What stood out most was that I never felt alone during what can be an overwhelming process. He communicated clearly, genuinely cared about making sure I understood everything rather than simply telling me what to sign, and always made time for my questions without making me feel like I was inconveniencing him. Even as I approach settlement, Sam has reassured me that he'll continue to check in throughout the life of my mortgage. Knowing that I can continue to reach out to him whenever I need guidance or have questions gives me enormous peace of mind, especially as a first home buyer. It's reassuring to know that his support doesn't end once the loan is approved or settlement takes place. Buying your first home is one of the biggest financial decisions you'll ever make, and it can be incredibly intimidating. Sam transformed what I expected to be an overwhelming and confusing experience into one where I felt informed, supported and confident every step of the way. If you're looking for a mortgage broker who is knowledgeable, patient, transparent, incredibly responsive and genuinely invested in helping his clients succeed, I cannot recommend Sam highly enough. Whether you're buying your first home or have purchased before, you'll be in excellent hands.

Jonathan and the team at Loan Market were fantastic to work with. This is the second time we've used Jonathan, and once again he exceeded our expectations. He made the whole refinancing process simple and stress-free, worked hard to secure us a much better interest rate, and kept us informed every step of the way. We really appreciate his professionalism, knowledge, and dedication, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend Jonathan and the Loan Market team to anyone looking for a better home loan.
