Thanks Sophie and Nel for helping us for our first home loan. We didn’t end up getting a loan with aussie due to my own change of mind but still appreciate all the help, without which I had very little confidence or knowledge to get any loan.

We went through Aussie Home Loans as first home buyers, and unfortunately, our experience was extremely disappointing. After sophie pushing for the first initial appointment we thought this would be great however we were wrong. As this was our first home, we relied heavily on clear guidance and communication — which was consistently lacking throughout the process. We did everything that was asked of us promptly and provided all required documents as quickly as possible, yet this level of urgency was not returned on their end. At one point, the delays and poor communication nearly cost us the house, which was incredibly stressful and upsetting. When we raised our concerns in an email, instead of taking accountability or working to resolve the situation, the blame was shifted back onto us — which felt unfair given we had followed every instruction. Buying your first home should feel supported and guided, not confusing and stressful. Based on our experience, I would not recommend Aussie Home Loans to first home buyers.

Strange to read other reviews as my partner and my experience has been so polar to other people’s with Sophie. Started with our appointment getting pushed back nearly half an hour - whilst we were sitting there waiting with no real apology. When we did see them we were assured there was a strategy for us to realise our dreams which was great, however, That’s where our experience ended. We were told we’d be contacted closer to christmas and that was it. Never heard again. We made arrangements with a competitor and secured a home quickly beating the Christmas shutdown which has worked out well but still left wondering why our experience was different to so many others.

Nigel is an excellent broker - knowledgeable, responsive, clear communicator, trustworthy and friendly. Goes above and beyond. Highly recommend!
